Summer shows

Solis Trio, with an already large audience in 2023

Since 2023, Greg Kucera and Larry Yocom have brought the Ateliers des Arts du Noble Val (82) into the cloister. Gradually, and given the high musical quality linked to the proposed artists, the project has gained momentum to “make the Madeleine a place of musical excellence” (Simon Clark, head of the Ateliers des Arts du Noble Val). In addition, Le cloître has had the status of “Public Receiving Establishment” (ERP) since 2024.

On August 13, 2023, Solis trio inaugurated the concert series. In June 2024, MZ Duo, between clarinet and accordion, enchanted the public. Susan Bullock’s talent and delicacy also seduced, with an unusual repertoire for the world-famous singer, around Broadway and the music hall, in July. The apoteosis will have been for the Londoners of Five for Five, who filled the cloister in August with the sounds of their brass. The 2025 season was marked by the return of MZ Duo and the sound of the Connaught Brass ensemble. In 2026, world music took center stage with an intimate concert by Gérald Toto, who captivated the audience with his smooth, warm voice.

Since 2025, the Pants on Fire theater company has been bringing English-language theater to life in the cloister. The Monsieur Shakespeare project has already featured two productions: A Midsummer Night’s Dream (which sold out in 2025) and Twelfth Night (in June 2026).

Finally, a proposed partnership with the Tons Voisins festival for the 2027 season underscores this commitment to making the cloister a showcase for culture.
